Duck Dynasty Youth Group Party

This post is about a party that was held using ideas they found on our first Duck Dynasty Party page. We have had so many comments and such a great response to our parties by people telling us how they have searched and searched for ideas to have a Duck Dynasty party and found that there really isn't much out there yet. I hope to help change that by posting as much as we can to help people have great parties.

Duck Dynasty is such a great theme for all ages and all size groups. This post is to provide readers with ideas for a youth group activity night.  We received the following feedback from a youth pastor and his wife about a recent party they hosted.  Ryan and Madison Robertson gave us this summary of their party...

Hello Karen.  I just wanted to let you know that we hosted our Duck Commander night at church last night and it was a  huge success!!  We had about 36 Middle School students and I had several adult leaders helping me cook and coordinate the games.

-     We started the night with a photo booth, camo face paint, and made duck calls out of straws.

      We had hot dogs (labeled as squirrel meat), hamburgers (duck meat), and wings (frog legs).  My wife made her “award winning banana puddin’”.  And we baked biscuits that were labeled as “Miss Madison’s (my wife) homemade southern biscuits.  Finally, we made chili (Uncle Si’s Nam Surprise).

      We did 2 competitions. The first was who could knock the most duck decoys off a table with bean-bags.  The second was bouncing a duck decoy on a small trampoline into a kiddie pool.  The 2 winners went into the donut eating contest! I was able to use your trivia contest as a tie breaker for the 2^nd spot.

      I also had a man from the church who hunts do a bow and arrow presentation with a deer target.

      For dessert we fried Oreos, candy bars, and twinkies. I know that’s not on the show, but figured it would be good!

Thank you so much for all your help and ideas!  We had a great time and a great turn out.  The church was so excited about the event! I attached the picture that went into the bulletin for you to see.  Our graphic designer did a great job giving me a beard!

Duck Dynasty Adult Party

We were selected to host a Duck Dyansty House Party and we had a great time. We love Duck Dynasty and loved having it as a theme for our sons birthday a few months ago.  http://partyplansforall.blogspot.com/2013/01/duck-dynasty-party.html

This time however we were having an adult party so of course the activities would be different. 

 From the time the party pack arrived in the mail to the actual party itself, we were all so excited. 

Some of the items that came in the party pack were face masks of the main Duck Dynasty characters. We had fun playing with these and then came up with the idea to make life size people using the masks.

 Our son's favorite is Uncle Si so he was the first we made. We had fun gathering clothes and stuffing them with newspaper to create our Uncle Si. Of course he had to have his tea cup and we gave him a tiara and feather boa because of his time having the tea party with the little girls in Season 1. When I asked my son (pictured) to get some of his clothes for Si, my son said in typical Si fashion, "I dont think my clothes will fit him" 

We dressed Willie in a tux and he looked so real our dog sat patiently waiting for him to pet him :-)

Of course Phil had to be in camo clothes and he and Si were placed in the dining room to talk.

Miss Kay got an apron and we made a stand for her so she could hang out in the kitchen where we knew she would be most comfortable.

We chose black for Jase and put him in the living room with Willie. 

During our party it felt like the Robertsons were there with us :-) Everyone enjoyed the props and the food and activities.

Everyone wore camo and beards, and came ready to enjoy a party Duck Dynasty style. 

 We had a Duck Dynasty Trivia contest, a beard contest, and enjoyed the fellowship of family and friends.

We made labels for our wine that said Duck Dynasty Mallard Merlot in honor of the episode on making wine. Served the wine in redneck wine glasses.

We served Jambalaya and Miss Kays biscuits. Fried Catfish Louisiana style, Fried mushrooms that we called squirrel brains, and Banana Pudding for dessert.

The best part was the family dinner at the end of the night. That is my favorite part of the show as well.

We created a photo booth for everyone to have their pictures taken.

 Duck Dynasty is a great theme for a party of any age. There is so much fun to be had and everyone enjoys living life like the Robertson's even if just for a night.

Duck Dynasty Party

My son wanted a Duck Dynasty Party for his 13th birthday. My first action was to look online for ideas that others have done. I found NOTHING! I was shocked! How could there be no Duck Dynasty party ideas? So We had to make them up ourselves. We asked around to other family members that also love the show and we came up with more ideas than we could use. I am going to post the ones we did use with pictures but also list the others we thought of so if the other ideas fit your family better you could switch them out.

First, Decorations: That was fairly easy although not readily available. We wanted hunting camouflage, not military but mostly what we could find was military. We made it work for the plates and napkins.

We ordered a Duckaholics sign from Duck Commander and also a beard for our son.

We found pet toys in the form of ducks, beavers and skunks to decorate around with and bought camouflage netting to turn our play structure into a duck blind.

Of course everyone had camo clothes and fake beards. That was fun for everyone. The little beards were bought from Party City.

Activities: This is where it really got fun! Once we started thinking of the shows and the different things that are done on the show, the ideas just kept coming. I am just going to list the ones we thought of and then talk about a few of them.

Donut Eating Contest

Beaver Hunt (scavenger hunt style)

Frog Hunt (egghunt style)

Beehive Pinata

Redneck Water Park

Making Duck Calls

Lawn Mower Race

Trust Fall

Shooting Games

We did the Beehive Pinata. I simply blew up a large balloon and covered in with paper mache and then with streamers and fulled it with candy. Very easy and great fun for all.

Frog Hunt: We bought light up frogs and hid them around. Since we were pretending to eat frog legs for dinner they had to catch the frogs first.

Make Duck Calls: This was very easy and the kids loved it. You take a drinking straw and flatten one end of it. then you cut that end into a point. place the pointed end in your mouth and blow. It makes a sound similar to a duck call and the kids love making noise. You can experiment with different angles and lengths of straw to make different sounds.

Donut Eating Contest: Lots of fun and these kids ate way more I thought they would. The littlest ones at 7 donuts and would have eaten more. 

Now for the FOOD:

I made camouflage cupcakes for the cake. I made one chocolate cake and one vanilla cake. I added food coloring to give me two shades of green and two shades of brown. then I layered the batters in the cups and baked them. very easy and they turned out camouflaged. 

I frosted them with green frosting and topped them with camouflaged ducks we ordered from Oriental Trading.

For the birthday song We changed it up a bit and sang "Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday to you...."

Of course, We had Sweet tea in a cup like Uncle Si.  And below that is our menu for the evening.

We didnt really have duck so we cooked chicken instead and made chickens wings to be our frog legs.

And of course we ended the day with a family dinner because it wouldnt be Duck Dynasty with out that.
