My Little Pony Party

Our granddaughter loves My Little Pony and chose to have her 4th party as a Pony Theme.

Finding themed games and accessories was easy  and we  had favors and paper products to set the atmosphere. Each child went home with a plastic pony cup, jewels, stickers, crowns and pony headbands.

One game we played  was a treasure hunting game based on the episode where Rarity finds jewels and diamonds in the caves. We  made a type of sand out of flour and oil to hide the jewels and rings in. Then each child had a turn to uncover prizes.

Another game was pin the cutie mark on Pinky Pie.

For another activity we bought foam crowns for the guests to decorate.

The back drop was great for pictures.

We had two cakes....one was a rainbow layer cake and one was a rainbow ice cream cake. Both were very easy to make and everyone loved them.

I think next time I will combine the two instead.

Kimber's 3rd Birthday Little Mermaid Style

Kimber LOVES the little mermaid! So does her mom and her aunt and all of us really. So a little mermaid party was so fun for us. Decorating with sea shells and sand just comes natural for us and was so easy to pull things from all over our house for this party. Party favors were sand pails and toys with bubbles. We tried to keep the food simple and fun with the theme. We served foods with sand shovels. 

Kimber and her mom, Becca, made chocolates in sea shapes that we put on the cupcakes and cake. We tried making a sand castle cake. Much harder than it looks but with Kimbers help we were able to pull it off. :-) It is made with ice cream cones turned upside down and marshmallows on the cake layer. Frost everything and then dust with crumbled vanilla wafer cookies. We also added more of the chocolate shells and starfish.

We also made oyster shell cookies by frosting vanilla wafers and putting a yogurt covered almond in for the pearl.

We made a seafoam green punch with lime sherbet and blue jello with gummy fish.

We  drew a picture on poster board of a mermaid girl and beach boy for guest to take pictures with. It is always fun to pretend.

We also had a backdrop of blue material to be our ocean and Becca made some jelly fish with streamers and bowls to hang in our sea.

Julie gave Kimber a couple of hermit crabs for her present. We had so much fun. especially eating cake :-)

Jungle Safari Party

Our son wanted a jungle party so we set out to make that happen. This was a lot of fun to put together. There is so much available and so many fun food ideas to incorporate.

We hung streamers around the room like jungle vines. One of our older sons did most of the decorating and had a lot of fun doing that for his younger brother. We made trees out of brown wrapping paper by crumpling it up and stapling it to the walls. leaves were made of construction paper.

I bought a set of animal face masks and tails. Each child picked what animal they wanted to be and we clipped the tails on their clothes. We also bought toy binoculars for animal sightings.

We had plastic animals around and snakes in the trees.  We served lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and animal crackers.

We kept the cake very simple and plastic animals on top. but inside the cake was made to look like zebra stripes. that is done by alternating spoons of white cake mix batter with chocolate cake mix batter in the pan before baking.

The kids went on a safari hunt and played with the binoculars and face masks. We had some activities for them but they mostly had fun with playing safari hunts on their own.

We had a cardboard safari car that they colored and then put together to play in as well. that was a lot of fun too.

For the meal we made a snake out of sub sandwiches and we had a veggie tray made to look like a lion. Both were big hits with the kids.

Jungle juice served in monkey faced bottles with snake straws.

And then the biggest hit of the party was the chocolate fountain. We called it the mud bath and the kids all loved dipping their  fruit in the chocolate.

The party was a lot of fun and great memories.
